6 Key Attributes To Demand From Your Sobile Analytics Provider

Analytics are a means to an end – not an end themselves. Mobile app publishers need to be able to answer the “how, why and what” questions from the data they collect. Ask yourself: How is my app doing? Why is it performing well or poorly in certain areas? And, what can my business do to fix any issues and build on our strengths to improve the user experience? Analytics can and should be employed to address these questions and to optimize user engagement and monetize mobile apps. More after the jump. continued…

3 Tips For Effective Social Media Monitoring From Tracx CEO Eran Gilad

These days more and more brands are moving online, not only opening up Facebook and Twitter accounts to communicate with their customers, but also turning to social media sites to find out who’s talking about their brand and what they’re saying. But monitoring the conversation surrounding your brand on social sites can be difficult—these sites are working 24/7 in all parts of the world. How can you effectively monitor the conversation that’s going on and engage with the people that are talking about you?

If Content is King, How Do Facebook’s Ongoing Changes Make Analytics Queen?

Reggie Bradford is the Founder and CEO of social marketing software provider Vitrue. Reggie brings nearly two decades of technology leadership and experience to Vitrue, which he founded in 2006. Follow Reggie on Twitter on @ReggieBradford and @Vitrue.

As an industry, we fully understand the need for comprehensive and detailed analytics to monitor, measure and make sense of social data so the best social strategies can be identified and put into play. Earlier this week, Facebook underlined that importance with the announcement of new analytics tools for Pages and an API that allows third-party companies, like Vitrue, to build on top of it to provide brands even more comprehensive and robust resources.

Clearly Facebook’s recent f8 changes and its evolution kicked the need for analytics, as well as advanced social marketing technologies, up several notches. Why?

Five Ways Facebook Can Diversify Its Revenue Streams

Facebook needs more ways to make money. Sure, the $4 billion advertising number is big, and it’s impressive for a company still so young … but it’s not enough. If we’re going to believe a valuation of over $80 billion, which would surge upon IPO, we need more than that number, especially since it’s the vast majority of the company’s revenue.

Social Intelligence Company Claritics Raises $1.5M; Named TIEcon’s Top 50 Startup

Social Intelligence firm Claritics recently raised $1.5M in Series A financing. The company will use these funds, provided by Cervin Ventures and TiE Angels, to continue improving their product suite and expand sales and operations. More after the jump.

Analytics is a core component in operating businesses. Claritics‘ provides social intelligence apps as a service that track data across many social platforms. With a wealth of data, few companies are tapping into the rich data available on the social web. Companies such as Kontagent and Mixpanel focus mostly on social and mobile games, whereas Claritics’ strategy is to focus on a broader marker for social commerce.

“Social gaming and social commerce provides a unique opportunity for companies to understand their customers’ activities, behaviors and demographic profiles like never before,” said Raj Pai, CEO and co-founder of Claritics. “Our goal is to organize the enormous amount of social data in a way that not only delivers immediate, actionable insights but allows our clients to create automated processes around it and leverage predictive modeling to optimize campaign performance on-the-fly. This allows us to offer forward-looking social intelligence instead of the typical, backwards-facing analytics approach.”

Claritics has been running a private beta with many developers including Grab Games, Hallmark’s Social Calendar and others. It’ll be interesting to see how Claritics positions itself as the market is relatively crowded. There are many social media platforms and tools out there that help brands and companies understand where the conversation is taking place about their brands and to act on them. There are also companies like Kissmetrics which help with funnel analysis and Mixpanel which is best suited for tracking events.

The problem many face today isn’t about collecting data – it’s about actionable insights. Trying to make sense of data can be a daunting task especially as it may cause executives to lose focus on what is most important. It will be interesting to see which kind of clients the company goes after as Kontagent and others have been well positioned for years in the space. We covered Kontagent recently earlier this year as they disclosed tracking 10,000 social events per seconds and also in a comparative piece when we looked at some of the top analytics suites for Facebook developers. Its unclear whether Claritics will focus on a platform like Facebook or be more open web but the signs seem to indicate the latter.

“The rise of social commerce is being led by social game developers, but there is tremendous opportunity for nearly every type of merchant, from retailers and media companies to service providers and resellers,” said Neeraj Gupta, managing director of Cervin Ventures. “But to operate in this realm effectively, companies have to harness the incredible amount of data flying around, which requires a fundamentally new approach. Claritics gives clients the ability to identify mission-critical events right away and make changes to their content, features and marketing campaigns in time to have a dramatic impact on their outcome.”

Claritics has also been awarded a top 50 recognition at entrepreneurial conference TIEcon due to its vision and execution around social intelligence and automated optimization. Since its inception two years ago, 94% of TiE50 companies have been funded, attracting over $20 Billion in investments, so congratulations to the Claritics team.

Opentracker Leverages Facebook Technology To Analyze Visitors in Real-Time

Opentracker introduced a new cloud-driven reporting system, using technology developed by Facebook that measures and analyzes millions of visitors and page views from minute to minute. In essence, this creates the ability to think and react in real time. Decisions can be made based on what is happening, while it happens. This new service utilizes cloud-processing models used by Twitter, Google, and Amazon.

Social Media Marketing: Four Ways to Cater to Your Analytics Needs

Message, message, message. I’ll be honest; I fell into that trap for a while. When you’re churning out content for your corporate blog, this is a crucial consideration. You need to know that you’re saying all the right things to your target market … knowing that regulators, supply chain partners and your competitor are watching too. I’ve always been fanatical about messaging as a corporate blogger, and I still am.
Analytics and Insights to Watch on Your Facebook Page

Are you singularly focused on beefing up the number of “likes” on your Facebook page?
