“Put your Beard in my Mouth” — Ke$ha Joins Tumblr With Class

Moustaches get all the attention and it’s just not fair…for beards, that is. Ke$ha wants to give beards the attention that they deserve and so she’s launched her very own Tumblr dedicated to beards, just in time for Decembeard! ‘Put Your Beard In My Mouth’ launched with its first entry, a picture of Ke$ha eating a man’s beard, on Tuesday and on Wednesday she began tweeting about it. She’s asking men to submit pictures of their beards for her (and others’) viewing pleasure.

7 Tips for Marketing Your Content

I’m knee-deep in launching a new blog. This will be my tenth (non-personal) blog launch/re-launch in six years. Each time I do it, I seem to forget (and re-learn) the pain that’s involved. Getting a blog off the ground is far from easy, and keeping it alive is even harder. Of the 10, five are alive and well, if in different hands, two are dead and two should be if they aren’t. For the tenth, it’s still too early to tell, but everything looks better than it has with my other launches.

5 Reasons Tumblr Has Me Hooked Now

Earlier this week I expressed my Tumblr grievances in a post about 5 Reasons Tumblr Doesn’t Have Me Hooked Yet. Well now the tables have turned. That’s right – I’m a born again Tumblr enthusiast and, although I still think that Tumblr could be even better if they responded to some of the issues I pointed out in my earlier post, I’m hooked!

5 Reasons Tumblr Doesn’t Have Me Hooked Yet

This month I finally started using Tumblr in order to track my New Year’s resolution of being more creative in 2011. At first I wasn’t sure whether I should track my progress with a WordPress blog, a YouTube vlog, through tweets alone or with some other method, but I knew a lot of my friends were using Tumblr and I’d heard good things so I thought I’d give it a try. But a little over a week later I’ve got to say that I’m not entirely hooked, and I’ve got a few qualms with the service. I’ve put together a list of five of the biggest issues I have with Tumblr thus far. Read on and let me know if you agree.

Which Is Worse: The End of Year Family Letter or The Daily Life Blog

It’s that time of year again, time for Aunt Mary’s family update letter. Everyone has at least one member of the family or at least one friend that must insist on telling you all of the events that have happened in their families lives this year. The yearly family letter is definitely time consuming and annoying but what about the people in our lives who believe their daily life blog is important enough for you to read every week. The question is which is worse: the end of year family letter or the daily life blog? continued…

What’s the Most Reliable Blogging Service?

Thanks to tough years for Twitter and Facebook, we’ve been getting used to unavailable social media platforms, even if we aren’t at all satisfied with it – it’s almost becoming an expectation. That said, nothing is worse than pointing your browser at a spot on the web and not being able to get there … especially if it’s yours.

Danger: Gawker Dating to Encourage Commenter Reproduction

If you’ve never waded into the endless comments on a Gawker blog post, now may be the time. In addition to snark and desperate cries for attention, you may find the love of your life next few minutes. The gossip blog has just launched a dating service that is low on frills and seems to be something of an afterthought. But, it’s a good one. Already, 1,593 comments have been left, though it’s pretty obvious that the main goal is 15 minutes of fame on the web rather than 15 minutes of bliss (but who’s counting) with someone you’ll regret later.

A recent article in The Independent reports that children as young as three are turning to blogging as a creative and lucrative outlet. New research by Ofcom in the United Kingdom shows that one in five 8-to 11-year olds would like to set up a blog and 15 percent of 12-to 15-year olds are already blogging.
