Booyah’s location-based check-in game, MyTown, has been heavily gaining popularity and will begin using Google Places Web Service as announced at the I/O conference. As a new edition to the Google Maps API, Google Places offers compelling customization features for businesses to enhance place search. By integrating Google Places, Booyah will be sure to add depth to the MyTown experience by offering rapid search for local content in the US as well as in the international market. The location based titan also recently raised $20 million funding round and looks to extend its leadership in the LBS space.
Booyah, creators of the increasingly popular mobile social “check-in” game MyTown — currently exclusive to the Apple iPhone — have added another campaign partner, this time the Travel Channel for their Food Wars TV show. Food Wars travels to different cities and has two establishments battle it out over who serves a best particular dish, such as the town’s best chicken wings.
