The woman who changed the meaning of “oops, I did it again,” has hit a record today: she’s the first person to get followed by over a million people on Google+.   The Next Web broke the news, and reveals that she’s also, of course, the most followed user on Google+.  While people nay say Google+ like it’s the MySpace of 2011, I’m part of the camp that believes that Google will slowly improve the service until it has a watershed moment, and we flood in like displaced seals when the icecaps melt.

Britney Spears Has Joined Tumblr

Though, I am not too excited about Spear’s comment. I do know that she has a huge fan base. With her Tumblr page in full force, it appears the microblogging platform is having its heyday with some moments of fame. I am beginning to wonder if the platform is about to get flooded with a bunch of new celebrity accounts.

ABCNews.com Refresh: More Video, Easier Nav

ABCNews.com has ditched the black, and gone with a white background as part of a refresh. Among some of the other improvements, easier navigation, including a iTunes-esque “Now Playing” series of ABC videos.

Video is more prominent overall and the center well of news headlines is paired with the ABC News blogs. And, of course, there’s the requisite celebrity picture/story: today, it’s Britney Spears‘ buying habits.

“We’re thrilled to provide our readers with some great improvements to ABCNEWS.com,” ABC News Digital SVP Paul Slavin tells WebNewser. “In this phase of our upgrades, we’ve simplified our navigation, made video front and center, improved our site search tool and created what we think is a more readable, user-friendly design. We’ll continue to make tweaks as we go along and look to our users to give us feedback on what they find valuable.”

Chesney Launches Mobile Fan Club with Mozes

Kenny Chesney photo.jpgCountry music superstar Kenny Chesney has signed on with Mozes to encourage mobile interaction with his fans throughout his 2009 Corona Extra Sun City Carnival Tour. During the tour, fans can join Chesney’s Mozes-powered mobile fan club and text to win seat upgrades and VIP passes to the various shows. Once they’re part of Chesney’s “mobile mob,” fans will also receive exclusive alerts such as pre-sale ticket offers, schedule changes, downloadable content and other goodies.

Other artists that use the Mozes service to connect with fans include Rascal Flatts, Britney Spears, Ciara, The Fray and Kelly Clarkson. The company now claims more than 500 artists with a Mozes widget on their MySpace page or Web site.
