CNN Senior Producer Joins Reuters

Barclay Palmer, a former Senior Producer of the now-defunct “Amanpour” show on CNN, is joining Reuters as global executive producer for talent and content development.

Palmer, an 18-year CNN veteran, has worked in Newsgathering as well as the shows Moneyline, NewsNight with Aaron Brown and Anderson Cooper 360.

Palmer was brought on by former CNN executive Chris Cramer who is now Reuters’ global editor of Multimedia.

Reuters Hires Former CNNer for Global Editor Role

Reuters just announced the appointment of Keith McAllister to the newly created role of global editor, online. Formerly the CEO of Mochila, and prior to that, the EVP and managing editor for national newsgathering at CNN, McAllister will join Reuters multimedia management and consumer media management teams.

He’ll report to another former CNNer, Chris Cramer who is Reuters’ global editor, multimedia.

McAllister will be in charge of editorial and production oversight of all online operations for Reuters News, and will oversee the packaging, programming and publishing of editorial content for Reuters News Websites and retail customers.

Reuters Ups Former CNN Exec Chris Cramer

ChrisCramer_2.188.jpgReuters announced a new management structure for multimedia operations under the leadership of former CNN and BBC News executive Chris Cramer. Cramer, who joined Reuters as global editor of Multimedia in September, will now oversee five editorial groups – television, pictures, Reuters financial video service, online and agency.

All groups will be led by senior editors who will report to Cramer.

“In preparation for a future where the news industry looks altogether different, we are increasingly making full use of multimedia which allows us to interact more deeply with our readers and viewers,” said Cramer in a release.

Cramer spent nearly 11 years as CNN International’s managing director. He retired in 2007.
