It looks like the story of Groupon’s offensive Super Bowl ad campaign has come to a close. Groupon is pulling the controversial ad, along with the other commercials from the campaign.

When we heard that Groupon had snagged a Super Bowl commercial spot we were excited to see just what they would come up with for the big day. Would they be absurd, chock full of slapstick violence and explosions like their Mind Blowing Deals Super Bowl commercial parody from 2009?

Groupon will be one of the companies advertising during this Sunday’s Super Bowl. The commercial spots are reportedly going for nearly $3 million, but of course any company that can afford to turn down a Google takeover can afford it.

Over 65.6 million people have watched young David ask, “Is this real life?” after his trip to the dentist, but will as many watch his new video promoting Dr. Fresh’s Firefly toothbrush? Dr. Fresh himself, Puneet Nanda, has high hopes for the David After Dentist toothbrush promotional spot, but is David’s YouTube fame enough to turn the Firefly toothbrush into a viral sensation? The chances are slim to none.
