YouTube has just undergone a pretty major overhaul of their design, but it looks like they aren’t done yet. Amit Agarwal of Digital Inspiration reports that the online video giant has got a new player in the works and it’s going to be a pretty major change, complete with thumbnail previews and auto-generated storyboards.

A little over a week ago we reported that YouTube was testing a revamped design. Today they’ve made the new design official, and they’ve launched a video to show off the new features. According to the YouTube blog, “this new design [is] focused on helping you discover a broader range of entertainment on YouTube.”

Is YouTube Rolling Out A New Video Player?

Over the past year or so, YouTube has made a number of changes to their video player.  In April 2010, they rolled out a new design, in August of last year they updated their post screen, and just weeks ago they began offering a new logoless player for embeds.  Now it seems that YouTube is at it again, rolling out a brand new video player design.
