Google+ Exclusive Game: Have You Tried Gangs of Boomtown?

A few days ago, mobile/social gaming crew Digital Chocolate (headed by the original founder of EA Trip Hawkins) released Gangs of Boomtown exclusively to Google+.  According to our sister sites Inside Social Games, the game is “a blend of quests, multiplayer quickdraw contests and citybuilding mechanics” and seems to follow the same visual style as other Digital Chocolate games like Zombie Lane and Millionaire City.

There aren’t any details about the particulars but it is likely related to a patent or a intellectual property matter. Digital Chocolate Raises Another Round of Funding, Focuses on NanoVerse

DigitalChocolateLogoMobile and social games developer Digital Chocolate just announced a multi-million dollar revolving line of credit from Bridge Capital Holding, a subsidiary of a Silicon Valley-based full-service business bank. Digital Chocolate’s expansion into the social and mobile gaming scene seems to be paying off as they actively update their Nanoverse series on Facebook as well as their recently launched city builder Millionaire City that currently has 350K MAUs. Digital Chocolate Kicks Off The City-Building Genre With NanoTowns For Facebook

NanotownsDigital Chocolate, best known for their various iPhone game hits, today announced the launch of NanoTowns, a city-building game for Facebook. The game focuses on creating a unique city by creating businesses, keeping citizens happy, and completing quests. It combines elements from old city-building games like SimCity with social elements from games like Cafe World and even Mafia Wars. Overall, the game has fun, cartoony graphics and is a rewarding experience, but only time will tell if it successfuly gains traffic: as of this writing the game has only 5,200 fans.

Break Media – Social Games on Video Networks, New Games Studio

Break Media has announced that they will be working on a new Social Game based on their CagePotato MMA Video property. The game will be titled “MMA FightPicker” and will involve elements of Social Games and Fantasy sports. Break Media opened up a game studio in China in Q4 ’09, and plans to release over 6 games for Break Media in 2010.
