At DIY Days on Saturday, March 3, filmmakers, writers, performers, hackers, and other artists from 12 countries and 20 states gathered at The New School in New York City to brainstorm ideas on how to achieve a sustainable creative industry. The results were not large-scale solutions, but small steps individual artists can take to get their own projects off the ground.

Vanilla Ice, DIY Network: Go Ice Yourself

If you’ve got a home-improvement problem, yo, Vanilla Ice will solve it. The Vanilla Ice Project launches on DIY Network Thursday, Oct. 14, and the Scripps Networks-owned cable channel launched a companion app on its Facebook page, Ice Yourself.

Ice Yourself allows fans to use their Webcams to take a picture with Vanilla Ice, and then create mini slide shows to the tune of his “Ice Ice Baby.” Slide shows include “Cool as Ice,” “Just Chill,” “Rollin,” and “Flip that House.”
