Fantasy sports fanatics, you’re in for a treat. Fantasy sports just got a social makeover with the launch of Gamingo’s brand new Social Fantasy Sports engine.
Decision Maker, the Web-based interactive fantasy-football application developed by Bloomberg and NFL.com, is now available for the iPhone and iPad via the iTunes App Store.
Decision Maker uses Bloomberg’s advanced analytic tools to enable comparisons between any two National Football League players and determinations on which one will produce the best results. Its systems ranks players using complex analysis and formulas, which take into account elements such as recent performances and weather forecasts for game sites.
The Web-based version is available free-of-charge to NFL.com fantasy-football players, or for $7.95 for the entire season for those who field their virtual teams elsewhere. The iPhone version costs $1.99, while the iPad app will set fans back $4.99.
CBS Sports hopes iPad owners are ready for some football, as it released the CBS Sports Pro Football App for iPad to coincide with the start of the National Football League season.
The app — which is also available for the iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry — offers live scores, play-by-play, breaking news, standings, video, and fantasy-football commentary.
Speaking of fantasy football, owners can use the CBS Sports Pro Football App for iPad to manage their teams, check scores, set lineup, and add or drop players.
CBS Mobile senior vice president and general manager Rob Gelick said:
Whether you are a dedicated fantasy player, or a pro football fan who wants the latest news about your favorite team, the CBS Sports Pro Football app for iPad delivers a great experience for everyone. The iPad version is the newest addition to the already extensive footprint of the CBS Sports Pro Football app. Clearly, given the rapid consumption of the app out of the gate, this is a desirable, useful product with broad appeal.
Bloomberg and NFL.com want to help fantasy-football players field the best possible starting lineups, so the two parties teamed up on Web-based interactive application Decision Maker, which uses Bloomberg’s advanced analytic tools to enable comparisons between any two NFL players and determinations on which one will produce the best results.

Bloomberg Sports head Bill Squadron said:
We are very excited to be able to use our analytic tools to work with the NFL in the creation of Decision Maker, a product any fantasy player will find enjoyable, effective, and very visually compelling. We have been able to draw on the successful model Bloomberg has built in the financial community and apply it to sports data, the result of which is a unique must-have for any fantasy-football player.
NFL vice president of media strategy and development Hans Schroeder added:
Our goal in relaunching the NFL.com Fantasy game was to provide our fans the best possible fantasy-football experience. We are excited to be working with Bloomberg Sports to offer our NFL.com Fantasy players the Decision Maker product for free as part of our Fantasy game, with the goal of further enhancing their fantasy-football experience on NFL.com.
