Reuters.com Streams Morning Broadcast for Davos Delegates

Reuters.com kicked off its coverage from the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland today and it began with the live streaming of a 90-minute morning broadcast produced exclusively by Reuters for the Forum. It will air each morning of four day event and is also being transmitted to the hotel rooms of all delegates.

The show is hosted by Steve Clark and features, among others, Stephen Roach of Morgan Stanley and investor George Soros.

Yahoo May Crawl Back to the Table with Microsoft

Yahoo_Entrance_CNET.jpgWe were afraid it was going to come to this. Silicon Alley Insider reports that now that the Justice Department may kill Yahoo’s Plan B Google deal, the venerable portal is looking for alternatives, such as, you know, restarting talks with those pesky Microsoft folks.

Some members of Yahoo’s board have already reached out to Redmond for exactly this reason, according to unnamed sources close to the negotiations. As SAI puts it, Microsoft has already tried—twice—to set up a deal with Yahoo. “We therefore imagine that Ballmer & Co. will wait to see whether Justice rejects the deal before considering making a third. And if Justice does, in fact, reject the Google-Yahoo deal, you don’t need to be George Soros to figure out what kind of Microsoft deal Yahoo might get. In a word? Crappy.”
