Google Calendar App Gets More Colorful

Google released an update to the Calendar app today that allows users to customize the colors of events from the mobile device. The update also allows users more options in scheduling how frequently events repeat and debuts a new design of the time and date selection interface where more options are visible at a time.

Some Twitter users were unable to access the network Monday evening, getting instead a greeting from its fail whale. “Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue,” the company said in a status update Monday. The social network has since added “This issue has now been resolved” to the update. While DownForEveryoneOrJustMe said Twitter was doing just fine, since the site wasn’t completely down, DownRightNow was reporting a “likely service disruption.” AFP French anti-racist and Jewish organizations on Monday condemned what they called a wave of anti-Semitism sweeping over Twitter using the hashtag #unbonjuif. The hashtag — which in English means a good Jew — has been one of the top trending words on French language tweets in recent days and is often followed by offensive comments. Currently, Twitter’s board includes CEO Dick Costolo, company founders Jack Dorsey and Evan Williams, and investors such as Peter Fenton of Benchmark Capital and Peter Currie of Currie Capital.
