Google is accepting applications for beta testers for Google Shopping Express – a new same day delivery from merchants like Office Depot, Target, and Blue Bottle. Lucky shoppers selected for the pilot program will get free same day delivery for six months.

Today we’re starting a new experiment, Google Shopping Express. It’s a local delivery service that we hope will make it possible for you to get the items you order online the same day, and at a low cost. It’s incredibly early days and so the service is only available to a small number of people in the Bay Area.

Use Google To Make Shopping Easier This Holiday Season

Google wants to make it easier to do your holiday shopping this year and has created a number of tools to help you do so. According to the Google blog,”last holiday season, 67% of shoppers read product reviews before making a purchase.”

To help make finding reviews easier, the search giant has created a new social shopping tool called Google Shopping. Google Shopping lets you see if a product that you want to buy has been reviewed by someone you know. In addition, you can use the tool to write product reviews on Google Shopping and share these reviews with friends. Google Shopping also shows discounts, so that you can find the best deal. Two-Thirds of the U.S. Consumers Download Coupons

The fact that one in three consumers found online coupons not appropriate for their needs “suggest many consumers are not properly educated in regard to online coupon Web sites or have preconceptions about coupon Web sites that are not realistic,” the Morpace report concludes. Web sites that can better explain the benefits and show the range of online coupons might be able to make inroads with these coupon resisters according to Morpace.
