Mark Pruner, a real estate sales agent with Prudential Connecticut Realty in Greenwich, Conn., closed a successful deal with his GreenwichStreets.com blog, which primarily focuses on real estate but also touches on local news and events.
Pruner said he established GreenwichStreets.com June 28, along with a companion Twitter account and Facebook page, and it has risen from No. 5.7 million in the Web-site-traffic rankings from Alexa to No. 823,733 — not Google or Facebook, but not too shabby.
The 30-year-plus Greenwich resident said:
We try to cover things that are of interest to anyone in Greenwich or looking to move to Greenwich. I’ve been doing Web consulting with clients since 1996, and writing this blog has shown me how tough it is for reporters to come up with an interesting story every day.
September 2010 was an all-time record for rentals in Greenwich, while at the same time housing is more affordable than it has been in many years. People focus on the big sales like the Helmsley mansion, but over 200 Greenwich properties listings would qualify for FHA or Freddie Mac guaranteed loans at 80 percent financing, and the median home price in Greenwich is actually up 5 percent this year.
