With news this week that The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal were the victims of hackers, The Huffington Post has pointed out the vulnerability that all media and business travelers face when working from remote locations and traveling with their computers, tablets and smartphones.

To help you avoid having your work stolen or your, the blog has put together a list of useful tips with insights from Anup Ghosh, chief financial officer of software security company Invincea.

Check it out: Don’t think you can just keep your eye on your equipment. Data can be captured while the laptop is in customs or if you step away from your hotel room briefly. “It takes five minutes or less to capture information from the laptop,” Ghosh said. Lock it in a hotel safe. Use an encrypted drive.

AOL To Launch Huffington Post Streaming Network

At a press conference in New York Thursday afternoon AOL’s Huffington Post Media Group gave a preview of a new streaming network that will launch later this year.

Founding editor Roy Sekoff, who will be leading the network, described the programming as a series of live and interactive clips covering everything from entertainment to politics.

Is the Huffington Post Worth $315 Million? AOL Says Yes, And Buys Arianna.
