Google Has 19,000+ Episodes of Indian TV on YouTube Shows

India’s film and TV industry produces a deluge of content every year, and India’s 1.2 Billion people are constantly clamoring for more.  From soapy dramas to gritty documentaries, their entertainment industry has evolved, and as they evolve they are embracing social media and web video like none other.  YouTube announced today on their YouTube blog that they now have 19,000 full episodes of 300 programs in 6 different languages to “YouTube Shows”, a section of YouTube that highlights high quality programming.

Indian Court Asks Facebook, Google to Remove Anti-Religious Content

As a follow up to the request by various Indian politicians to remove content from Orkut, a trial court has asked Facebook and Google to remove “anti-religious” and “anti-social” content from their networks.  This request includes the removal of videos from YouTube and social posts from Google’s Orkut network, as well as Google search and Facebook’s entire database.
