Pioneer Brings iPhone Apps to the Car Dashboard

Pioneer has introduced AppRadio, an in-car entertainment system capable of integrating and displaying iPhone apps on its screen. AppRadio is basically a 6.1-inch multi-touch display with WVGA (800×480) resolution designed to be mounted and completely integrated to your car. It can be viewed as a secondary peripheral display for the iPhone 4 apps. Before the apps could run on the AppRadio they need to be adjusted to be rendered on the secondary screen. This is normally a simple task that many developers could probably finish in a couple of days.

The Most Important Way Twitter Apps Prevent Humiliation

Do you remember the early days of Twitter? I’m a devoted UberSocial user on my BlackBerry, but before I got hooked on it, I was a committed “40404” user. Many of the 200 million registered Twitter users probably don’t know what that means. Well, those five digits could be the source of endless embarrassment. Twitter apps have pushed the problem out of Twitter life, however, making us all much happier. It all comes down to deleting a tweet.

Interview: Ex-Friendster CEO Kent Lindstrom Explains His New PlacePop Project [Video]

The platform uses location based technology and check-ins to reward frequent visitors of a store, but because the API is open, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. In the video, Kent makes the example of an ice cream vendor near Dolores park can have a discount for frequent visitors of the park. See the video after the jump.

Top 5 iMusicians Of All Time

With apps like PocketGuitar, I Am T-Pain, Virtuoso, Ocarina and DigiDrummer you can create a virtual symphony on your iPhone. Many talented musicians have put their instruments aside and traded them in for little handheld devices, making amazing music on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Our favorite iMusician clips include covers of Lady Gaga, Neil Diamond, MGMT, and even Ukrainian composer Mykola Dmytrovych Leontovych. We hope you enjoy them!

Amazon.com Now Has an iPhone App, and It's Pretty Cool Too

Receiving major news coverage today is Amazon’s entry into the iPhone apps market with its very own free iPhone application which is simply called Amazon.com. What makes this new iPhone application cooler is one of its features which let you snap photos of things you encounter and the app will match it with the same if not similar products at the Amazon shop. Pretty cool right? continued…

Voice-Enabled Search Comes to the iPhone

Last week, a rumor of a new Google Mobile App for the iPhone is making the voice-recognition feature a reality. Many waited for it to become available as early as Friday but for no apparent reason it didn’t show up in the iTunes apps store. What it needed was a single post from the Official Google Blog announcing the new Google Mobile App with voice search functionality. continued…
