@BravoTV features talk bubble icons that vary in size and color depending on how active Twitter conversation is about that show or trending topic, according to paidContent, and fans can choose a separate environment for each Bravo series.

The dashboard also features Tweet Battle, in which users take sides on opposite ends of Twitter debates, and Just Saying, customized hashtags to prompt conversation.

Bravo Media senior vice president of digital Lisa Hsia told paidContent, “In the history of how social media has incorporated advertising, it’s usually just a banner and button situation. We wanted to get advertising more integrated.”

Bravo, Groupon Partner on 'Top Chef' Promotion

GrouponTopChef0804510.bmpCable network Bravo and shopping site Groupon are partnering on a promotion tied to the series “Top Chef.”

August 4 thorough August 8, Groupon will offer a discount coupon, redeemable at eight restaurants across the country owned by former “Top Chef” contestants.

This is the first time a television network has partnered with the startup.

Bravo has been aggressive in reaching out to startups and new platforms before they become mainstream. It was one of the earliest networks to partner with Foursquare.

“Bravo’s fans are early adopters and followers of the latest technology trends and are at the forefront of what’s hot and happening on the web. Emerging companies like Groupon are a perfect fit for our audience, allowing fans to engage with the chefs and food they see on our shows on a personal, one-on-one level,” said Lisa Hsia, Senior Vice President of Digital Media, Bravo. “Additionally, this will help Bravo reach an even bigger audience and give them all a chance to taste Bravo — in their own lives and right in their own hometowns.”

The participating restaurants are after the jump.
