Meredith Video Network Debuts

Meredith announced the launch of the Meredith Video Network, which will offer content from Parents, Family Circle, More, and Fitness.

Videos are sorted by brand or topic, and users can customize their video-channel pages, comment, and share video content via Facebook and Twitter.

Meredith Video Network can be accessed via the following four links: http://tv.fitnessmagazine.com, http://tv.more.com, http://tv.parents.com, and http://tv.familycircle.com.

Meredith Video Network is powered by multiplatform content and media publishing system Creator 2.0.

Dow Jones' Jack Goldenberg Joins Meredith as SVP/CTO

Meredith turned to an executive from Dow Jones to help push it along the path to the digital sector, tapping the chief technology officer of the latter’s enterprise media group, Jack Goldenberg, as its new senior vice president and CTO, tasked with creating a technology strategy that will support rapidly expanding digital content and global information platforms.

While with Dow Jones, Goldenberg launched digital products Dow Jones Investment Banker and Dow Jones Adviser, as well as leading the media company’s technology team and the introduction of state-of-the-art publishing technology. Prior to that, he served as senior VP, content technology for Thomson Reuters/Thomson Financial.

Goldenberg will be based in Meredith’s Des Moines, Iowa, offices, reporting to Meredith National Media Group executive VP and general manager Mike Riggs, who said, “Jack will be working across our enterprise to provide innovative technology solutions that enable us to maximize delivery of our best-in-class content and differentiate Meredith from our competitive set.”

Fitness Taps Christie Griffin from Cosmopolitan as Digital Director

Christie Griffin left the world of fashion for the world of Fitness, joining the magazine as digital director after serving as senior Web editor for Cosmopolitan.

At Meredith-owned Fitness, she will oversee editorial efforts and help to execute brand strategy across all digital platforms, including mobile, apps, and tablet editions.

While at Cosmopolitan, she led editorial efforts to relaunch the Web site in 2007, and Griffin was part of the team that created Cosmo Mobile. Prior to that, she was a Web editor at CosmoGirl.

Fitness editor-in-chief Betty Wong said, “We are thrilled to welcome Christie to the Fitness team. Her extensive background in the Web space will definitely bring new energy, ideas, and innovative thinking to our digital properties.

Liz Armstrong Joins ReadyMade as Online Editor

Liz Armstrong joined ReadyMade as online editor, coming to the Meredith-owned bimonthly do-it-yourself title from Vice, where she was editor of the online arm.

Prior to Vice, Armstrong served as beauty editor for Hint Fashion Magazine and as a freelance writer for publications including New York, Seventeen, Star, and Blender.

“At ReadyMade, I’m psyched to keep a great thing going,” Armstrong said. “Readers can look forward to expanded coverage of DIY arts and less-explored creative scenes, as well as more Web exclusives accompanying each issue of the magazine.”

ReadyMade editor-in-chief Andrew Wagner added, “Liz has the perfect combination of energy and experience that we’re looking for to take our online presence to the next level.”
