A lot of people are unhappy with Netflix’s recent subscription plan and price changes. However, I would guess at least some Nintendo 3DS mobile game console owners are happy that they can download a free Netflix app and watch streaming video right on the 3DS.

Netflix Streaming Now Available on Nintendo 3DS Hand-Held Systems

3DS owners will need a $7.99 streaming-only Netflix account as well as access to WiFi to view video content. Netflix video programs are displayed in the top display normally used for 3D game viewing. Video programming is currently in 2D. However, the Nintendo press release states that: Users will soon have access to an additional library of select movies that can be viewed in 3D without the need for special glasses.

Tech, Media Dominate Landor Associates' 2010 Breakaway Brands Study

Clif Bar and Kraft Foods have something else in common besides edible products: They were the only two companies to crack the top-10 list in the 2010 Breakaway Brands Study from strategic brand consulting and design firm Landor Associates that aren’t in the technology or media sectors.

The 2010 Breakaway Brands Study named 10 brands as those with the greatest sustained growth in brand strength from 2006-09, as the company teamed up with Wake Forest University’s Graduate School of Business to study brands’ business strategies, marketing initiatives, and category dynamics.

Facebook was the top technology/media finisher, placing second with 85 percent growth. It was followed in the sector by: BlackBerry (No. 3, 57 percent), LG Electronics (No. 4, 55 percent), Nintendo (No. 5, 51 percent), Google (No. 6, 36 percent), Apple (No. 7, 33 percent), iPod (No. 8, 30 percent), and Disney (No. 10, 17 percent).

As for the two “outsiders,” Clif Bar led the way at 97 percent, while Kraft Foods finished ninth at 29 percent.
