Back in November of 2010, on 10.10.10, filmmakers from all over the world shot footage for a documentary project called One Day On Earth. The footage has been cut into a documentary film, which will screen in every country in the world on April 22, 2012. In anticipation, One Day On Earth has released an amazing music video that was created entirely from the footage submitted on 10.10.10.

One Day On Earth, an online community with the unique mission of helping document the World’s Story, will be filming in every country in the world this Friday, 11/11/11, for the second time. Last year on 10/10/10 they did the same thing, shooting footage everywhere on earth on a single day to edit together into a documentary film in order to create a better perspective of our global community through video.
Everyone is talking about the theatrical premiere of Kevin MacDonald and Ridley Scott’s YouTube documentary Life In A Day, but Life In A Day isn’t the only documentary made up of footage shot in a single day all around the globe. One Day On Earth is a similar project—a documentary time capsule sharing perspectives from people in every country in the world on 10/10/10.

Last week, YouTube introduced Ridley Scott and Kevin Macdonald’s ‘Life in a Day’ project, which plans to create a documentary entirely from footage shot and submitted to YouTube by people from around the globe on the date of July 24, 2010. However, the idea behind ‘Life in a Day’ is not a new one. Grassroots film project, ‘One Day On Earth’, has been working on a similar initiative since September of 2008. ‘One Day On Earth’ plans to create their own documentary film to serve as a time capsule, sharing videos and perspectives from people around the globe on 10/10/10.
