Nearly 100M Adults To Watch Online TV By 2015

A new study from eMarketer shows that multiscreen viewing habits are on the rise. eMarketer estimates that the number of people watching video content each month online will show a huge increase between now and 2015. eMarketer senior analyst Lisa E. Phillips says, “Consumers are not ready to go over the top, but they are edging closer. They care most about convenience, cost and choice, and are interested in viewing options to the extend that they fit in with those demands.” It looks like more and more these demands are being met by online video.

Sony's Qriocity Attempts to Put Pressure on Netflix

The race to catch Netflix is heating up, and now it’s Sony that is trying to put on some pressure. They have recently launched a streaming on-demand movie service with a few added quirks, and some setbacks, that hope to put a dent in the continued success of Netflix.Other companies are trying steal users from Netflix as well, HBO among the most notable. While some are gearing up to take down Netflix, this looks to be Sony’s last shot. continued…

Boxee TV Takes A Bite Out Of Apple TV

Apple TV begins shipping today and Apple fans everywhere want to see if it will live up to what is promises. The TV home theatre device marks the entrance into a new niche for Apple and it faces fierce competition from other home entertainment devices, most notably the Boxee Box that is due to be released in November. As CEO of Boxee, Avner Ronen, has described “The Boxee Box is going to be $100 more expensive than the Apple TV, but will give you the freedom to watch what you want.” What does he mean by this? For starters, Boxee Box offers an abundant choice of free content, many unique functionalities and provides a ‘social’ approach to its media center. continued…

Jinni Founder Reveals The Power of Emotion Based TV Recommendations [Interview]

How would you like to search your TV Guide according to your mood? Users in Belgium now have this option with the latest investment by Belgacom, the largest telecommunications company in Belgium, with Jinni.com, a movie and TV search engine and recommendation site. This addition to Belgacom will enable viewers to search for Web TV content based on their mood and emotions. Jinni is an online search engine that calls itself ‘the Taste Engine’ and likens itself to ‘Pandora for Movies’ because users search for content according to mood, plots, titles, or whatever meets their fancy. Jinni has made some milestones this year such as becoming Google’s partner for Google TV and winning the award for “best product idea” at the CableLabs Winter Conference. I had a chance to talk with Jinni Founder and President, Yosi Glick, about the recent investment and what users love about Jinni. continued…

Why Some TV Series Do Better On The Web

New statistics released by video search site SideReel reveal an interesting phenomenon – the shows that are most popular on TV aren’t necessarily the most popular on the Web. That’s right – just because a television show tops the Nielsen Ratings for broadcast doesn’t mean it will get a lot of views online. A comparison of Nielsen and SideReel rankings shows that hugely popular television shows like American Idol and Dancing With The Stars fall short in the online department, while less popular television shows like Gossip Girl jump to the top of the list in online views.

Watch Online Premier League and UEFA Champions League Football Games For Free

Searching where to watch online Premier League and UEFA Champions League games I found several interesting posts/guides of how to make it possible to see these games online for free. You can check out this nice guide of using SopCast which is one of the most popular tools to stream TV online using p2p technology.

But unfortunately using SopCast isn’t enough to watch all leagues and all your favorite sports. That’s why I searched a little bit deeper and found this site where you can find all major leagues in many different sports together with link to service which provide possibility to watch current game online for free.
