NBC Universal Bringing Social-Media Initiatives to Las Vegas for 2011 CES

NBC Universal, official broadcast partner of the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show, to be held in Las Vegas Jan. 6-9, has social-media and online plans for the confab, as well.

On Friday, Jan. 7, Bravo Media will debut social-media experience @bravotv, which will allow fans to interact with Bravo personalities, as well as rolling out the Bravo iPad app, which permits engagement during shows.

Aubrey O’Day, star of All About Aubrey, a docu-reality series that will premiere on Oxygen this spring, will host a live chat on OxygenLive! Saturday, Jan. 8.

CNBC media and entertainment reporter Julia Boorstin will update the Media Money blog with CES news, and the CNBC Real-Time iPad App and premium, professional-level online and mobile service CNBC PRO will be on display at the NBCU booth.

And NBCU will team up with Sharp again to open the doors to The Hub multimedia lounge, where business and entertainment Webcasters and bloggers will post their reports digitally and through social media.

Want to wear what the bad girls are wearing in Tuesday’s Bad Girls Club Miami reunion special on Oxygen?

Four different cast members were styled with custom looks for their characters by entertainment-based retailer StyleQ, and fans can go to the Bad Girls Club Facebook page to purchase apparel, footwear, and beauty products via branded Facebook store Shop the Look: BGC Boutique, which will “open its doors” while the reunion special is airing on the cable network at 9 p.m. ET/PT Nov. 16.

The Facebook page will also offer bonus material including instructional and how-to video vignettes about the styling sessions and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the show.

Gossip aficionado Perez Hilton will host both parts of the Bad Girls Club Miami reunion special, with part two set to air Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 9 p.m.

Oxygen.com Breathes In Strong 3Q, September

Oxygen.com said it is on pace for its best-ever third quarter in terms of monthly unique visitors and video streams, with those figures up 44 percent and 177 percent, respectively, compared with the year-ago period.

The Web site for the women’s-targeted cable network also reported a potential record-setting September, with page views up 20 percent, unique visitors 70 percent, and video streams 469 percent versus September 2009.

Also for September, Oxygen Mobile is up 114 percent in unique visitors and 111 percent in page views.

OxygenLive! Adds Blurts, Miso Badges for Bad Girls Club Miami

OxygenLive!, the women’s-targeted cable network’s online social hub, will introduce two new features tied to Tuesday night’s episode of Bad Girls Club Miami, which airs at 9 p.m.

Blurts voice-annotation technology will be added to the site’s social stream, allowing fans of the series to add “voice notes” to their posts. Blurts will also be active for Oxygen’s 10 p.m. offering, Hair Battle Spectacular.

And Oxygen teamed up with social-TV check-in service Miso to give fans of Bad Girls Club Miami the opportunity to receive badges and unlock exclusive content after checking in. Two fans will be chosen to receive signed posters from the cast.
