YouTube has just become the next site to hop on the social commerce bandwagon with the announcement that they are launching a new feature called the Merch Store through which YouTube partners can offer merchandise directly from their channels.

Owners of smartphones equipped with near-field communication (NFC) technology, such as new Nexus S 4G, will be able to check-in on Foursquare and receive a special Google I/O badge by chicking their phones against posters. If you are like most U.S. smartphone owners and don’t have an NFC-enabled phone, you can scan a QR code on the poster instead.
