Film lovers in the UK can now get their fill of their favorite flicks on YouTube. That’s right—today YouTube announced that they’ve taken their movie rental service to the UK.

Amazon’s stock climbed 2.3% this morning after the company made the announcement it has signed a deal to stream Fox movies and TV shows like “24″ and “Arrested Development” to Amazon Prime members.

Miramax has gotten friendly with Facebook, announcing today that they are the next big studio to make movie rentals available on Facebook. They follow in the footsteps of Warner Bros., Paramount and Universal, who all began making their films available to Facebook users earlier this year.

Netflix’s recognizes that video streaming makes it easier for kids to watch movies on on-demand with a variety of mobile devices. What about the parents? I am sure they prefer DVDs. I wonder if they will subscribe to both plans.

Wal-Mart has a nifty 99-cent rental program that offers a daily “movie of the day“for 99 cents on the Vudu platform. There is even a Friday the 99-cent movie of the day rental. The rental is determined by the consumers, who’ll get to vote on Wal-Mart’s Facebook page for the most popular pick among new releases.

Last month YouTube beefed up their on demand movie service with over 3,000 new movie rentals, but if you want to watch pay-per-view content on YouTube from your jailbroken Android you’ll be sorely disappointed.

Rumor has it that YouTube could be launching an on demand movie service as early as this week, giving users the opportunity to stream their favorite Hollywood movies for a fee.
