At this year’s E3 Games expo, Sony made some announcements regarding Playstation Home, their virtual world “social network” that connects Playstation 3 players to one another. The service has doubled from 7 million to 14 million in the last year and players spend an average of 70 minutes per visit playing mini-games and more. Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), one of the largest and most successful online gaming companies of all time, has launched its first Facebook game, entitled PoxNora. PoxNora was previously available for play at PoxNora.com, and was hugely successful. The game was in fact acquired by SOE in January 2009, and has accumulated 2.5 million registered accounts so far. The game is a turn-based strategy game and collectable card game set in a fantasy universe. Sony also announced that they will “follow this inaugural Facebook launch of PoxNora with additional games for the Facebook platform based on both existing franchises and new intellectual property”.

Fresh off the news of Stevie Case joining Live Gamer as Director of Business Development , Live Gamer has announced a partnership with Sony Online entertainment to release its Elements microtransactions platform into several of SOE’s key online games.
Speculations of why Fox and Paramount are not making a deal with YouTube is because Google, who is the parent company, supports pirate sites by including them in searches, linking to them and advertising on them.
