Back in October YouTube asked students, ages 14 to 18, to submit videos with ideas for science experiments for the YouTube Space Lab. They explained that the winning experiments would be performed and live streamed…from space! Now the submissions have been narrowed down to 60 finalists and you are invited to vote. Which student’s experiment would you like to see performed live from 250 miles above earth?

Earlier this year the NASA crew fielded YouTubers questions live from space and now YouTube is headed galaxy-ward once again. Yesterday YouTube announced their new YouTube Space Lab project with Lenovo. They’re asking students, ages 14 to 18, to submit videos explaining ideas for science experiments for space and the winning ideas will be performed and live streamed from the International Space Station.

Nexus S First Android Phone in Space on Final Space Shuttle Mission

Google promoted one Android “reference device” (phone) in 2010 and 2011. The 2011 reference device was the Nexus S made by Samsung. It was the first Android phone to feature NFC (Near Field Communications), a front-facing camera and run Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread). This past July, it also added the distinction of being the first and last Android phone to go into space on the final space shuttle mission.
