Ashton Kutcher Follows Through on Ding Dong Ditch; Rick Sanchez Not Amused

So yesterday in Atlanta, Ashton Kutcher made good on his promise to ding dong ditch Ted Turner‘s house for beating @cnnbrk to be the first Twitterer to 1,000,000 followers. But Kutcher went one further, climbing to the top of the house Turner built, CNN’s Atlanta HQ. And CNN’s Twitter hero Rick Sanchez (@ricksanchezcnn / 89,919 followers) didn’t like it one bit.

“You know what that is? I’ll tell you what that is. That is, if nothing else, a publicity stunt.”

Early Thursday morning, Kutcher and his wife Demi Moore (@mrskutcher) also dropped off a thousand ding dongs and rang the bell at a nearby Ted’s Montana Grill.

Kutcher v. CNN on Twitter: “An Amazing Comment on the State of our Media”

Twitter dominator Ashton Kutcher is talking about his race to 1,000,000 followers and his closest competition – the CNN Breaking News Twitter feed. In a video on Qik.com, Kutcher, found here says, “I just thought that was just kind of an amazing comment on the state of our media, and I said that, if I beat CNN to 1 million viewers, then I would ding-dong ditch Ted Turner — because I don’t think it’s gonna happen.”

BusinessInsider reveals that CNN bought the Twitter account from previous owner James Cox, a British web developer. Cox launched the account three years ago, according to CNN.com spokesperson Jennifer Martin.

As of this writing CNNbrk has a 13,000+ follower lead at 966,247 to Kutcher’s 952,865. Another celebutwit, Britney Spears, is falling behind with 932,062.

> Update: At 9:38pmET, Kutcher took the lead. He’s now ahead by about 1,100 followers. Looks like he better get his doorbell-ringing finger ready and figure out the quickest way to Montana. But how do you find the doorbell on Ted Turner‘s two million acres?
