Taking the Mail Out of Mail.com Media

A rebranding might be in order at Mail.com Media, as the parent company of media sites including Boy Genius Report, Deadline.com/Hollywood, and Hollywood Life is selling its email business to Germany’s United Internet Group, according to paidContent:UK.

Mail.com Media will still be the “primary global content provider” to Mail.com, according to an email from founder, chairman, and CEO Jay Penske to “stakeholders, colleagues, and friends,” which was obtained by paidContent:UK, which also said the transaction would provide a “vast pool of capital for the future,” and Mail.com Media will have “an even greater focus on expanding the portfolio of published content properties and further investment in our existing properties and events.”
