Thalia Launches New Budget eReader

Thalia, one of the larger German bookstore chains, unveiled a new  eBook reader earlier this week.

The TouchMe is  a hybrid media player/eReader.  It’s based around a 7″ (800×480) LCD screen, and it has 8GB Flash storage, SD card, a resistive touchscreen, and it supports Epub, PDF, Mobi, FB2 eBook formats. You can also use it to watch videos and play music , with over a dozen formats supported.

Thalia is selling the TouchMe right now for 60 euros. They’re supporting it with the Thalia eBookstore, where they stock 300,000 titles with 100 thousand in German. Readers can share eBooks between Thalia’s Android reading app and the Oyo II, Thalia’s own eReader. That device is selling for 119€, or about twice the price of the  TouchMe.
