Jewish weekly newspaper and Web site The Forward teamed up with Jewish nonprofit Hazon to relaunch food blog The Jew & the Carrot on The Forward‘s site.
The two parties said the blog will combine Hazon’s expertise and dedication to the Jewish food movement with The Forward‘s journalism, with writers and bloggers from both staffs contributing.
The Jew & the Carrot will focus on Jews and sustainable and organic food, including news, discussion, celebrity profiles, Kitchen Bookshelf (on cookbooks the editors are reading), and recipe database Yid.Dish.
The Forward editor Jane Eisner said:
Our goal in this partnership is for The Jew & the Carrot to become the premiere site for Jewish food and the Jewish food movement on the Internet.
And Hazon executive director Nigel Savage added:
With this relaunch of The Jew & the Carrot on The Forward, we believe that the blog is ready to take the next step in its evolution from a source on the new food movement to the food source for Jewish people everywhere.
