The iPod Crosses the 100 Million Mark

In just over five years, Apple has sold 100 million iPods, making it “the fastest selling music player in history,” according to the Cupertino-based company.

In addition, Apple has sold 2.5 billion songs, 50 million TV show episodes, and 1.3 million movies — not bad for a service they introduced four short years ago. While the wireless industry fights for early market share in mobile media, Apple is far and away the most popular new media platform for consumers on the go.
