Foodbeast Reimagines The Last Supper Through Instagram

Thanks to Instagram, Twitter and the rise of the photo-foodie, the way we look at, arrange and think about food has changed.  Dominique Zamora of Foodbeast writes, “It’s hard to imagine what dinner looked like before the days of Instagram.”  So Foodbeast decided to go back to one of history’s most famous meals, The Last Supper, and reimagine it, Instagram-style.

In the graphic below, Foodbeast takes a look at what “the last meal Jesus shared with His apostles before His crucifixion, might have looked like if it took place on Instagram, complete with #hashtags, emojis and yes, gratuitous, photo-ruining filters.”

I always find it fun when creators head back in time and bring today’s social tools with them to tell stories.  Back in 2010 the story of the Nativity was told through social media and in 2011, the story of Passover was told via social media channels.

In this case, photos from @jesusofnazareth, @judasss, @peternotpeeta, @juanthebaptist and others tell the story of The Last Supper.  As Zamora asks, “Sacrilege or vital (if narcissistic) historical documentation?”  Check it out below and judge for yourself.
