The National Dog Show App for Android & iOS

What could possibly more social than the the relationship between humans and their dogs? If you missed the National Dog Show that took place on November 19 and 20, you can still check out the highlights and learn about the dog breeds involved using the free The National Dog Show 2011 app for Android and iOS.

The National Dog Show (Android Market)

The National Dog Show (iTunes App Store)

The app provides long video clips from the 2011 events as well as selected clips from 2003 through 2010 (except for 2005 and 2007). Photos of finalists from 2004 through 2011 are provided too. Information about each dog breed, a short glossary and Dog Show 101 section (in Treats) are there to help the non-expert dog fan. The Treats section includes a few wallpaper photos, dog whistle (audible to human type) and, believe it or not, a “Golden Retriever in a snow globe.” The Twitter stream for @TheNatlDogShow rounds out the app’s features.

Note: The National Dog Show sponsored by Purnia is different from the American Kennel Club (AKC)/Eukanuba National Championship show that takes place on December 17 and 18.
