For Election Day, The New York Times has launched what appears to be rather extensive mobile coverage, complete with customized text message alerts. The paper’s mobile site (mobile.nytimes.com) will feature the following all day:
- Live results of the presidential, congressional, and gubernatorial races;
- County-level maps of each state, updated live;
- The overall electoral map as it evolves;
- NYT blog links;
- Breaking news alerts
- Custom text message alerts sorted by zip code.
Sign up for breaking news alerts by texting the word NEWSALERTS to 698698, or receive text message updates by zip code by sending ELECTIONS [ZIP CODE] to 698698. Amazon Kindle owners, meanwhile, get NYT subscriptions for free from Nov 3 to Nov 6th.
