The Onion is the latest media outlet to go mobile with an ad-funded site on the Quattro Wireless network. The new mobile site will take all the most popular content from the satirical news source and make it available on a daily basis across a wide variety of handsets.
Quattro will both host the site and provide the targeted advertising through its Mobile Ad Network.
According to Mobile Marketer, the Quattro-powered site configures the layout and navigation behind-the-scenes to deliver the highest quality supported by the handset type. The new mobile Onion site also supports audio feeds from the publication’s radio news network.
The Onion claims some three million unique weekly readers of its various formats.
