The Weather Channel Has Redesigned Its Android App

The Weather Channel has redesigned its Android app, the brand’s first major redesign since 2009. The revamp includes a new interface, a new look and a personalized weather experience.

The app also has some new features such as the “rain start/stop” feature, a tool that tells you when the weather will change by the minute. For example, the app will say, “snow will begin at 3:30″ or “expect dry conditions to continue.” The new app also includes a new mobile ad unit which gives the advertiser a chance to integrate the mobile experience with other channels. Toyota is the exclusive launch partner.

The Weather Channel redesigned its iPhone app last May, adding photo sharing tools that let users post images of weather events to the brand’s social media network iWitness or directly to Facebook or Twitter.
