PGATour.com had a record-breaking day for its online video coverage of the first round of the World Golf Championships. The site streamed 2.5 million videos yesterday alone.
This is Tiger Woods’ first tournament since winning the U.S. Open last June. He spent eight months on the sidelines recovering from reconstructive surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
PGATour.com had online hole-by-hole video of Woods’ first round in the tournament with video posting shortly after the completion of each hole. The site had more than 1 million uniques, the second largest day ever behind the U.S. Open playoff between Woods and Rocco Mediate Monday, June 16, 2008.
