TIME and Foursquare Partner for 2012 Political Conventions

If you are at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, FL on August 27-30 or the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC from September 3-5, don’t forget to check in on Foursquare. The location-based site has partnered with TIME magazine on politically-themed badges to unlock when you check in at the conventions and surrounding events.

The upcoming events are part of the publication’s ongoing coverage of the 2012 presidential elections on Foursquare. In addition to the badges, TIME will use the check-in service to post updates from reporters, newsmakers, and VIPs, along with tips and curated lists of recommended venues and events. 

Since joining Foursquare, TIME has been hard at work covering the SXSW festival and creating other kinds of content, like matching its magazine covers to locations around the country.  The multimedia brand also has 3.2 million followers on Twitter and a growing presence on Google+ and Pinterest.

TIME’s magazine titles are fully digital, with tablet versions for iPad, Galaxy, Kindle and Nook; and its mobile app has reached 3.5 million total downloads across its iPhone, Blackberry and Android platforms.
