TIME.com managing editor Josh Tyrangiel continued his chat with Beet.TV managing editor Andy Plesser on his thoughts on the relaunch of his site.
“If you take Time magazine and put it on the Web and ignore all of the challenges of the medium, you haven’t really done much for people,” he said. “You’ve just replicated content.”
He told Plesser much of the content published in the magazine is “just too long” for the Web, adding that 95% of the content on TIME.com is Web-exclusive.
“People read the Web for news between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. every day,” he said. “Our goal is to make people smarter while saving them time.”
