Are you sick of your cell phone’s blocky, old-school typeface? Our partner blog UnBeige reports that Monotype Imaging, the company behind fonts.com, launched FlipFont, a new service that lets you replace the factory-default font with various mobile-optimized alternatives.
At the time of this writing, FlipFont contains 10 scalable fonts, including one based on freehand architectural lettering, with prices starting at £1.99 (about $3.19 US at today’s exchange rates) per font. FlipFont currently only works on a small group of handsets offered by Vodafone UK, but eventually the company plans to market its product overseas as well.
