On October 22, 2012, President Barack Obama joined Governor Mitt Romney for the third presidential debate of the season, moderated by CBS’ Bob Schieffer. While professional comedians were lighting up the second screen with their Tweets, President Obama may have delivered the best line of the night.
According to the Twitter Political Index, Obama’s horses and bayonets comments set off a flurry of 105,767 tweets per minute — the peak moment in a stream of 6.5 million debate Tweets overall.
