It’s now officially summer, which means the vacation season is in full swing. Instead of sitting home in front of the TV watching the Travel Channel and dreaming of a vacation, it’s time to take that trip – and take the Travel Channel with you.
Travel Channel Media has launched the beta of Travel Channel GO, a free mobile application that works on any Web-enabled mobile device. The service has more than 10 million points of interest and some 2,000 Travel Channel-exclusive destination guides, maps, directions, proximity alerts, click-to-call links and narratives from Travel Channel personalities, the company says.
Travel Channel GO is powered by Earthcomber’s personalization and search technology. Although it’s available to any mobile Web user, iPhone and BlackBerry users will have access to a “richer experience” tailored for their advanced devices.
