Trinity Broadcasting Network Spreads Its Gospel Across All Platforms

Faith-based cable channel Trinity Broadcasting Network wants to spread its message 24 hours per day, seven days per week, on every possible platform, and chief of staff Paul Crouch Jr. spoke with Multichannel News about TBN’s multiplatform initiatives.

The video portal on the TBN homepage offers classic family movies, as well as repeat presentations of popular network fare, and TBN released apps for the iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, BlackBerry, Android, and Windows Mobile operating systems that offer 24-hour access to content from TBN, youth network JCTV, Arabic-language network The Healing Channel, and Farsi offering Nejat TV, according to Multichannel News.

TBN has also embraced the use of Skype to allow Off the Record host Brandon Crouch to feature guests from around the globe, Multichannel News reported.

Crouch told Multichannel News:

Years ago, we realized that computer and digital technology would revolutionize the way individuals view their favorite programs, movies, news, and other video content.

We had such an overwhelming response to this revolutionary viewing option (the Apple apps) that we quickly followed up by adding live viewing capabilities for smart phones like the BlackBerry, Android, and Windows Mobile. That means smart-phone users can now view all of TBN’s networks 24 hours per day, and can even access archives of our most popular programs.

(Younger viewers) want to take an active part, to offer their input. And with technologies like Skype, along with all of the social-networking tools available to them, they’re becoming a more and more important part of the television experience.

Our mission today at TBN is the same as it was when my parents started this network with a tiny UHF station nearly 40 years ago, and that is to change people’s lives with the hope of the gospel. At the end of the day, our goal is still to make sure the good news is spread to every corner of the earth. And we are thankful for the level at which we’ve been able to do that.
