Watch: Trololo Man Makes A Cameo Appearance On Family Guy

Sunday night the tenth season of Family Guy premiered and to help them start the season out with a bang they had a cameo appearance from a cartoonified Trololo Man.  Trololo Man was one of the most popular memes of 2010 and has continued to garner attention throughout 2011.  The Trololo Man Eduard Khil already has a website, a Wikipedia page and a Know Your Meme entry of his own, but Sunday’s episode of Family Guy truly cements his spot as an Internet legend.

For those of you that aren’t familiar with the Trololo Man, his name is Eduard Khil and he went viral when his 1963 performance of the Russian song, “Indeed, I am very glad that I finally am returning home,” was uploaded to YouTube.  Viewers loved the goofily happy look on Khil’s face, as well as the poor lip syncing and the video spawned a huge number of parodies and look-alike contests.

Check out the original Trololo video below, followed by the Family Guy cameo.

Though the video has over 4,000 likes and only 283 dislikes on YouTube, there seem to be a lot of negative comments.  People are saying things like, “Trololo is old.  And this, like nearly every gag on Family Guy, was pointless,” and “People say memes mentioned on Family Guy die on the Internet…”

Personally, I rather enjoyed the cameo.  There’s no such thing as too much Trololo guy (I just made the song my cell phone ring!) and I found it to be sort of a pleasant surprise.  Commenters are right—the Trololo meme is passé.  That being said, I think the fact that it’s old made it all the more surprising and funny.  What do you think?  Is Trololo played out, or did you like the Family Guy appearance?
