Tumblr Lets Users Post Selfies From Android and Desktop

Tumblr has turned on a feature that allows users to post self-shot photos of themselves from their browsers.

The blogging platform gets its popularity from the easy workflows it presents for various types of content, and selfies are a popular enough form of content to have spurred a neologism.

“Selfies are back and here to stay. Create a photo post, click “Take a photo” on the bottom right corner, and GPOY [gratuitous picture of yourself] to your heart’s desire,” the company said in a blog post.

To access the feature, users select photo as the type of content, then click the “take a photo” link. Tumblr asks for permission to access the desktop device’s camera.
