TVGuide.com managing editor Jennifer Holland is leaving the site after just one year, as she is getting married and moving out-of-state, and editor in chief and vice president of marketing Christy Tanner told FishbowlNY what she is looking for in the search for Holland’s successor.

Tanner stressed serious journalism experience over entertainment experience and said the managing editor is responsible for day-to-day operations at the site, overseeing seven editors.

Holland’s last day is July 17, and Tanner told FishbowlNY interviews will start this week with an eye toward wrapping things up by July 4.

More from Tanner:

Breaking news is an incredibly important part of our strategy. It fits in with the comprehensive access we aim to give to entertainment fans. It’s really, really important for this person to have very solid and extensive journalism experience. And it matters less that they have entertainment experience than that they are a world-class journalist.

Candidates must love the fast pace of covering breaking news, have extremely advanced organizational skills, people skills and a sense of humor. If you can’t have fun in this job, then I question your sanity. It’s really one of the best jobs on the planet.
