A netroots campaign is being organized on Twitter related to Katie Couric‘s appearance at USC earlier this week. On Wednesday, Couric accepted a Walter Cronkite award for her campaign reporting, especially her interviews with GOP VP nominee Sarah Palin. Outside the hall, filmmaker John Ziegler, who is producing a film on Palin’s run, was being handcuffed by University security guards. (video after the jump)
Well, this morning, a group called Accuracy in Media is asking its followers to direct their “tweet outrage” at Couric.
Everyone needs to voice their outrage, and @katiecouric is a great place to do it. Even if she never reports the news of Ziegler’s mistreatment, searches of @katiecouric on Twitter will let everyone know that she chose to hide and stay silent about a breach of journalism ethics on the campus of one of the nation’s most prestigious journalism schools.
Here’s a sample of the most recent Tweets directed @KatieCouric.
