Twitter Buying TweetDeck: Are TweetDeck’s iPhone & Android Apps Toast?

However, as of today (the early morning of May 9, 2011) neither Twitter nor TweetDeck have said anything about an acquisition. TweetDeck did, however, release anupdate their free iPhone Twitter client app.

TweetDeck 2.0.1

Version 2.0.1 adds image upload support for using Twitpic and Mobypicture. Twitpic is the default image upload service. yfrog was the default (and only) image upload service supported prior to this update. The image service can be changed in iPhone Settings for the app.

Two other features were added in this update:

1. Added the ability to edit the title of a custom column in the Column Settings screen (accessed via the “pinch” gesture, then the cog icon)
2. Added the ability to add a column of your own tweets via the Add Column screen (Tap the + in the top left and tap your Twitter account name)

Unfortunately, TweetDeck still does not provide full use of the iPad’s screen.
