Twitter-Driven Spanish TV Show Scores Ratings Success

A show based on Twitter is making a splash in Spain’s TV market: Twision, which debuted at midnight Thursday on non-major channel Veo7, attracted 80,000 viewers for the entire hour and 659,000 who tuned it for at least part of it, TechCrunch Europe reported.

The discussion program allows viewers to participate by Tweeting with the #veo7 hashtag to steer guests and presenters, and TechCrunch Europe reported that Veo7 general director Melchor Miralles‘ timeline crashed due to almost 2,000 Tweets during Thursday night’s installment of Twision.

Every presenter on Twision has a Twitter account, which they all use during the show, according to TechCrunch Europe.
